Sarah's story. . .

I had been in a long term relationship until it ended when I was 43. I had resigned myself to being on my own, as the only other women I knew were in couples and I didn't feel comfortable with trying to meet people via the internet or the gay " scene ".

I looked at your website and felt that it was the safest and most dignified way of meeting other lesbians who had similar circumstances and jobs, where for lots of reasons it wasn't easy to be out.

I felt I needed a professional matchmaker to make those necessary impartial and rational decisions about whom I would be compatible with. My previous experiences ( of choosing a partner) had little to do with sensible decisions and did not last.

Fran, you were so lovely to meet both in person and over the telephone and I felt that you really got to know me.

You gave me my first introduction and it was like coming home. She is my soul mate and I have never been so happy.

I would never have met someone like her without you, our lives simply would not have crossed, thank you for providing this service, it's changed my life.

Jane's story. . .

Hesitant as to whether an introduction service was for me, I immediately found Blithe Spirits to be a professional and discreet service.

After an uncomplicated registration I soon met Fran. She was welcoming, friendly and put me at ease right away.

I had some unsuccessful dates* initially but Fran was always supportive, spurring me on in her measured way.

Then I met P. It sounds corny, but was like a fairy tale - it was love at first sight.

On paper we were opposites in every way. Also living in different counties, I had always discounted a weekend relationship. But we have grown closer and closer. Geography and things in common seem secondary.

We have been together for just over a year and life is so much 'rosier' for me now.
